As a mass communication student, I have taken on multiple extracurricular activities that highlight my passion for journalism and civic engagement. My roles on and off campus include:
Current:
Head News Editor of GCSU’s award-winning student newspaper, The Colonnade
Social Media Coordinator for GCSU’s revived non-partisan and human rights organization, Amnesty International.
Communications Specialist for GCSU’s Office of Leadership Programs
Legislative Aide for District 80’s, Georgia State Representative, Long Tran
Reporter, director, editor and social media manager of Daily Drift News, a collaborative Multimedia Broadcast Journalism class project
Active Member of the Leadership Certificate Program, adding a baccalaureate certificate in Leadership Studies to my degree
Former:
Public Relations Chairman of GCSU’s revived pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta
Staff Writer for The Colonnade
My most recent project:
One of my volunteers and I tabling for the event on campus.
This past October I produced and promoted GCSU’s annual TEDx Talk event as the Communications Specialist for the Leadership Programs.
I was assigned two roles: Head of Volunteers and Talent Conductor. For my volunteer head position, I recruited, trained, and led 10+ volunteers for the event, ultimately aiding in its swift production. My Talent Conductor role involved constant and efficient communication with the speakers, some of which included keeping track of speech times, ensuring their comfortability leading up to the event, and fact checking their scripts for accuracy.
TEDx Georgia College 2025 was a complete success and I am more than excited to take part in next year’s event!
